3 – 5 minute read.

This is not to promote porn and this is definitely not an advertisement, it is to promote more love and more real world sex.

Pornography has evolved over time- from carved depictions on rocks to virtual reality experiences on your couch. I went to a play last month, Quills, telling the story of Marquis de Sade, a sexual freedom fighter locked up many times for his battle with society, living between his art and censorship, writing his sexual indulgences in very famous published stories. He coined the terms “sadism” and “sadomasochism”. Marquis has a huge list of deviant crimes, bodies of books, and lists of sexual romp sessions- all very progressive for his time. Now that porn has reached every corner, embracing your sexuality in the most natural way is balancing out the heavy pornogrpahy influence. Make Love Not Porn is in the middle- promoting love and not performance. Initially when I heard about Make Love Not Porn, I couldn’t imagine the difference of what they were offering online that porn didn’t already have a clickable category for. How is Make Love Not Porn (MLNP) different than what the porn industry has manifested in every online endeavor? I heard about Make Love Not Porn on several occasions while researching other sex topics. I killed my curiosity and made a visit. I’m still in the no FAP zone (read previous article) so going on here was a huge test. The overload of written content when the website pulls up, immediately displays a need to explain MLNP and what they represent prior to seeing any of their content. You have to create an account like a social media profile prior to getting access to the full site.  I couldn’t conceptualize what it would look like with the online porn performative mindset that has most of us missing the reality behind loving sex. Yes, I was turned on… but I also laughed, said “awwww” so many times, got to know real people, and was seeing love in a different way. This is definitely a new wave and the home video feels are sexy.

What is lovey and not porny about Make Love Not Porn?

  • Home video cozy feels.
  • Celebrating awkward and sloppy moments
  • “MLNP is said to be the documentary and Pornhub is the hollywood blockbuster”.
  • MLNP is set up like a social media platform.
  • Bios on each creators page allows you to peep the person or couple’s personality.
  • Sexual healing is shared in the community.
  • Sexual growth is shared in the community.
  • Inspiring ways to push through sexual challenges is shared in the community.

Besides the lovey feels I listed above… Is Make Love Not Porn more acceptable because it has a social media design, is it the emphasis on love, the cute hashtags like “me time” (for masturbation) and other comical descriptions that made this platform more acceptable? It could be all of it and I know this is just the beginning,

Much love and Knowledge.

Loved this blog! Thanks for sharing something I otherwise might’ve never came around to in such an acceptable form of sexual content. I love to laugh even if it’s during sex!
