Hair by Angela C. Styles
I’ve been following Angela C. Styles since her break out role in WE Tv’s La Hair back in 2012. Angela had always been my favorite on the show, her castmates didn’t feel the same as me though. To me, they were intimidated by her. I had always felt that she was going to be bigger than the show, and maybe in bigger than Kim Kimble.
About 3 years ago Angela chopped all her hair off, I was kinda shocked. Here you have this beautiful hair stylist who could do anything she wanted with her hair, but yet she decides to chop it off and go natural. I’m not gonna lie I quickly became inspired. She was showing us that it doesn’t matter what your hair looks like y0u are beautiful. As black women, we are programmed to think that straight hair is beautiful leaving us to hate our natural curls. I’m still guilty of this, I’m not gonna lie.
For about 6 years now she’s been teaching us how to care for our hair. It doesn’t matter if your hair is straight or natural Angela has tips to help you manage your hair.
Why am I writing this post you ask? Because Anglea is teaching our baby girls about their hair in a different way. That’s right she wrote a children’s book called Hair.
It’s time to tell our girls the secret while they’re still young… their hair is the sh*t
